Amentra Initiates Company Sponsored Operation Heartbeat Program
Richmond, Virginia, January 5, 2004 - Amentra, Inc., a business and technology consulting firm specializing in delivering improved business results through best in class business analysis, process, and enterprise technology solutions, is getting involved with the American Heart Association. Operation Heartbeat is an American Heart Association initiative that was launched in 1999. Its goal is to improve survival from sudden cardiac arrest by strengthening the chain of survival in communities throughout the nation.
Amentra will annually certify each employee in the Heartsaver CPR Course. This is a modular course that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child and infant victims. They will also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in children.
"We thought this would be a great idea to contribute to the community," said Mike Lambert, V.P. of Client Services for Amentra. "By having our employees certified in CPR it would allow for an even greater strengthened chain of survival. Since a majority of our work is done at our clients location, this allows for us to be spread out in the community."
